And just like that it’s June! But before we all get caught up in the summer hustle and bustle, we want to take a moment to reflect back on #25kinMay.
It was super inspiring to see folks of all ages and ability levels getting outside and being active. There were BKL skiers to masters skiers out there getting after it! By the numbers, 123 people covered 4,428k across 8 states and 2 countries. Most folks rollerskied, but we had a few bikers and runners mixing things up.
Three skiers in the “Keeping up with Beckwith” category covered over 250k with Erin Mahone-Moore topping the charts at 303k for women and Phil Lawson for men covering 586k with multiple modes. Joey Rouhana of Nonstop Nordic skied the fastest male 25k and Caitlin Patterson led the women in the Rockstar category. Rosalie Wilson of Ford Sayre and Patrick Coughlin of the Brunswick HS Ski Team skied the most kilometers in the Speedy Repeater Category clocking in 51.6k and 90.2k respectively. Congrats to everyone who participated!! You can check out the full 25k in May data sheet HERE.
We’ll be rolling out our category and raffle winners on social media in the coming days. They will be receiving snazzy new NENSA branded hats or LL Bean Gift Cards.
As NENSA looks forward we are seeking more ways to better support and engage skiers of all skill and experience levels. Stay tuned for our upcoming Rollerski Race Series release coming mid-June and be sure to check out our Learn to Rollerski page which we will be updating with opportunities as we finalize the summer schedule.
If you’re looking for more motivation to keep skiing in June join the our Associate Sponsor, Swix, for their Strava Challenge. You can also look forward to the Roy-llerski, a memorial rollerski event for Roy Varney of Maine in July.
