About NENSA

Founded in 1995, the New England Nordic Ski Association (NENSA) is a nonprofit member-supported service organization fostering a vibrant ski community through educational, recreational, and competitive opportunities for skiers of all ages and abilities. From youth programs like the New England Bill Koch League (BKL) and Nordic Rocks to community events such as Women’s XC Ski Day and the Popular Series, we create inclusive, fun environments that inspire a lifelong passion for the sport. We also steward a robust competitive ecosystem, featuring events like the Eastern Cup, the largest Junior National qualifying series in the U.S., and regional training camps for athletes at all stages of development. With over 60 member clubs and more than 8,000 event and program participants, we are proud to be at the forefront of Nordic skiing in New England, empowering lifelong learning, development, and community-building.

            ❄️NENSA announces 2025 Elite and Devo Teams!❄️

At the conclusion of each of the last six seasons, NENSA has named an Elite and Development Team which seeks to recognize the skiers who have represented the New England ski community nationally and internationally, and contributed to the ongoing work of pushing each other here, to we can push together out in the wider world of skiing.

Today, we are proud to name and recognize the 2025 NENSA Elite Team and NENSA Development Team. Skiers are recognized here for their accomplishments during the 2024-25 season, and are invited to view the benefits of this recognition here: https://nensa.net/2025/05/09/nensa-recognizes-2025-elite-and-development-teams/

❄❄❄ Outside observers of nordic skiers have always seemed to notice a paradox; how people who are necessarily inclined to an individual pursuit done in the woods band together to push each other all over the world.

In observing New England skiers, there’s always been an insistence to see a paradox: how people who are necessarily inclined to an individual pursuit done in the woods band together to push each other all over the world.

The secret outsiders don't alwways see; those winter New Englands woods aren’t so empty after all.

Instead, they’re filled with a special community of athletes who show an equal love for the frozen forests they get to glide through and the challenge of gliding through them as fast as they can. There is something special about the New England landscape, but there’s also something special about the principles those who practice the sport have established. To go from their pocket of the world to take on the rest of it, together.

Skiing better, together.

NENSA serves as the organization banded together to help apply that principle. Founded 30 years ago to help New England skiers challenge each other, so that they can challenge the world. ❄❄❄
