Rollins Roll Hill Climb – Mt. Kearsarge, New Hampshire

Classic hill climb up Mt.Kearsarge for all ages.

Hosted in partnership with Kearsarge Nordic, the Rollins Roll up the Mt. Kearsarge toll road is back! One of NENSA’s fastest growing rollerski events looks to bring a robust field from across New England to the central, scenic environs of Mt. Kearsarge in New Hampshire.

Event Details

• Parking: We ask that competitors and spectators carpool as much as possible. There will be 30 parking spots at the top of the tollroad/finish. All spectating must be on foot from the summit or outside the park. All cars must be parked at top by 8am. All cars that park at the top will be unable to back down the tollroad until the conclusion of racing around 10:00am.
• Bib Pickup: At the base of the road. The organizing committee will shuttle clothes/drink belts to the summit. Competitors without shuttles can pre-arrange transport to the start after parking at the summit.
• Warm-up: Race will start at 8:00am. The start area will allow for a warm-up on foot on the park road following pedestrian patterns. Athletes may also carefully ski on Gore and Mt. Kearsarge Road below the park entrance. Please wear your bib or a high-vis warm-up.
• Course: is approximately 3.5 miles long with an 8.7% average grade and 1,510′ rise.
• Start Order: will be started in a seeded start list with no breaks between age groups or genders. 15 second interval starts.
• Matched Skis: Thanks to EnjoyWinter and Swenor Rollerskis, the top 20 seeded skiers in the field (with equal distribution across gender classifications) will use NENSAs matched fleet. More on our fleet here.
• Bathrooms: Start – porta-potty at the start. Finish – Park bathrooms.
• Prizes: Information forthcoming. Awards at 10:00am at the summit!

Race-day Timeline:

7:30AM – Competitors warm-up on foot or on skis on lower Gore or Mt. Kearsarge Road.

8:00AM – Race start. 15-sec intervals, no breaks in age class or gender.

9:30AM-ish – All racers finish.

10:00AM – Awards ceremony at top of Mt. Kearsarge.

All race traffic must be off Mt. Kearsarge by 11:00am for a normal return to park traffic.
