Freestyle technique
Qualifier window if from 10-10:30am. You can qualify any time during that window (just remember going at 10:29 won’t make you any faster!)
Lollipop race will run at 10:35 – for all lollipop skiers and anyone who is new to skiing this year.
We will then run four rounds of instant-runoff style heats (formerly known as kings/queens court):
First round seeded by qualifying time
For subsequent rounds: If you finish in the top two places of your heat you move to the next faster heat in the next round. Bottom two, you move to the next slower heat. We’ll run the heats as efficiently as we can to keep everyone warm – don’t wander off to far!
If that didn’t make sense, don’t worry: You’ll just need to know your bib number to find yourself on the start list. If you’re done racing for the day, to turn in your bib right after your race so we can fill up all of the heats. As a general guideline: grades K/1/2 might want to do 1 heat, grades 3/4 do two, etc. but completely up to the racers.
