New Hampshire Cup:
This race is open to competitors of all ages that are based in New Hampshire. All competitors must complete a Health Screen Form by Friday evening; it will be sent to the email used to register on SkiReg. All coaches, volunteers and race officials must also register through SkiReg (at no cost) and are subject to this Health Screening.
Field Size will be limited to 100 racers total.
Please note we encourage competitors to have a NENSA & U.S. Ski & Snowboard membership – however they are not required. If you’ve never had a NENSA membership – the first year is free – please consider becoming a member and stay up to date on all of our programming!
All junior athletes will be scored to the Junior Ranking List (JRL) and masters will be scored for Zak Cup – all athletes who provide a club affiliation at registration have the opportunity to score Club Cup points towards the A Hall Mark of Excellence. Note that this is not a USSA sanctioned or NRL scoring event.
Bibs, Chips and Timing:
Bullitt Timing will host Live Timing as per standard.
Go to www.bullitttiming.com for Seed Lists, Start Lists and Results.
This event is part of NENSA’s Bib and Chip rental. If you purchased your bib and rented your chip earlier this season, please plan to race in them and return your chip at the finish. Because this is the final NENSA event in NH this season, we will be collecting rented timing chips from all skiers at the completion of this race. Skiers who are unable to attend this race can make arrangements to send them with coaches.
Racers who have not purchased season-long bib and chip will be assigned a one-day bib and chip for this race. If you receive a bib and chip for this event only (bibs 1-100) you will return the bib and chip at the finish corral. There will be a timing service desk at events and you can email Bullitt Timing if you have further questions.
Health Screens, Check-in and COVID Protocols
As mentioned above, all competitors must fill out their pre – event Health Screen by Friday evening or they will not be allowed to be at the venue on race day. The pre-screen will be sent directly to all registered coaches, competitors, volunteers and officials from NENSA via SkiReg immediately after registration closes on Thursday at 5pm – and must be completed by Friday at 8pm.
Additionally, all competitors, coaches and volunteers will need to check-in with the COVID screener at the venue upon arrival on Sunday. This check-point will be located behind the lodge. You should be prepared to give the COVID screener your name and show that you have completed the CDC Facility Access questionnaire. This link will be sent via email, prior to Sunday morning.
We currently have a maximum of two coaches bibs (those are intended for course access for ski testing) per team/club and encourage only one for teams / individuals that can pull that off. We implore any additional support staff to register as a coach and complete the Health Screen. If you have further questions please email [email protected]
Masks-
Due to current New Hampshire Guidelines all persons at the venue must wear a mask at all times, except for athletes during competition and warm-up. All competitors must have a cloth covering or mask on their person during competition to be worn immediately at the finish or if physical distancing cannot be maintained.
Spectators-
We are currently exploring ways to make spectating possible. At this time however, please assume that there will be no spectating allowed at this event. We will update this page and the VTCM if this changes. Parents chauffeurs who stay at the venue, should plan to wait in their cars. Another option is to go ski at nearby Pine Hill Ski area. (Classic skiing is best).
There will be a visible Covid Coordinator / Controllers during the entire event.
Venue and Parking
We will be sharing the lower and upper parking lots with the Alpine EISA/FIS event. Alpine events will be concentrated around the base of the Alpine hill and the front of the lodge. Please avoid these areas and stay to “XC Areas”, which will be accessed behind the lodge and on the XC trails. Please also do not mingle in the parking lot.
A short portion of the access road to the parking lot is single lane, so please be patient driving into and out of the venue and follow the directions of the parking volunteers.
Note that the stadium is only accessible by trail and it is approximately 1km from the check-in tent & bathrooms to the start/finish area. Coaches and athletes should add a little extra time to their schedule to accommodate that trip.
Since there is a concurrent Alpine Race, we will have SEPARATE Port-a-Potties for the XC event. These will be located behind the lodge near the check-in tent. In an effort to maintain a distinction between the groups, please only use the XC port-a-potties. There will be no indoor spaces for competitors or support staff.
Warm-up Loops: The trail from the parking lot to the stadium will double as a warm-up loop. Please stay right. There will be additional loops groomed in the field near the stadium. Course will be open before and between races for preview and warm-up.
NENSA Wax Policy (Fluorinated waxes are not permitted at this race).
Final Thoughts:
NENSA realizes it is a privilege to be able to host a competition during a pandemic. Please use your utmost caution during travel or if overnight lodging is required. We implore all travel and lodging will take place only with members of your own household. Please consider supporting local business owners during your travels.
