NENSA Zak & Club Cup Series
Please note races may be added to this calendar.
The NENSA Zak Cup Series brings together NENSA’s traditional Zak Cup age group series and the Club Cup Series into a single series of events featuring some of New England’s finest citizen races. All events that are part of this series are scored for Club points, with all participants earning at least one point for their club. Only one distance on each day is scored for the Zak Cup to ensure the best head-to-head competition within age groups.
The Zak Cup is a race series focused towards senior and master skiers. New England Master skiers participate in a season-long series to determine the fastest skiers in each five year age group over 24 year of age. The Series is named after Vlastimil Zak, who died unexpectedly when he went through the ice on Squam Lake, New Years Eve, 1979. Zak’s enthusiasm and dedication to our sport lives on in the Zak Series. Questions about the series can be directed to Justin Beckwith.
In order to preserve Zak and Club Cup through COVID-times we are adding stand alone Virtual and Virtual components to races that also have in-person events. There will be discrepancies between courses skied for Virtual events – but that adds to the gamesmanship of the season with the overriding goal of bringing the New England racing community together in these challenging times. Skiers may compete and be scored in both the Virtual and in-person events. Please note scoring changes to the series here.
