NENSA can’t wait to cheer on our New England skiers at World Cup Finals and we hope you’ll join us! The Stifel Lake Placid World Cup Finals weekend will be full of exciting races as well as a wide variety of fun activities. NENSA is partnering with the Olympic Regional Development Authority (ORDA) to offer some special events and opportunities including activities specifically for our youth skiers.
All attendees will need a general admission ticket which you can purchase here. Activities that require additional registration are noted below. There will be “ski depots” to store your skis while you’re not using them. Detailed schedule and venue map available here. Get excited and bring your loudest cheering voice!

NENSA Terrain Park

Watching World Cup athletes demonstrate their amazing abilities can be inspiring. It makes a person want to put on their own skis and emulate what they just witnessed.
Enter the NENSA Terrain Park. Throughout the World Cup weekend, youth are invited to test their agility skills on a fun and exciting terrain course. Think of this as a Nordic skiing playground! We will have our youth Nordic Rocks skis on site for kids who don’t have their own skis.

One More Lap
Olympic Alumni Ski

We invite you to join us following the Award Ceremony at 4pm to celebrate our former U.S. Olympians as we close the first day of the Stifel Lake Placid Finals with “One More Lap.” This Lap will commemorate the history, camaraderie, and enduring impact of U.S. Olympic cross-country athletes on our sport.

NENSA Expo with LL Bean

We also invite skiers of all ages to come say hi at our tent and the L.L. Bean Boot, share memories, check out the fun activities organized by our local New England ski clubs, collect stickers and trading cards, enter a design in the 50th L.L. Bean BKL Festival anniversary sticker design contest, enter the Fischer Giveaway, submit questions for Ben Ogden and Julia Kern, and more!

World Cup Future Stars Sprint
Sat, March 21 | 3pm
If you’ve been watching World Cup and Olympic races and wondering what it would be like to ski a lap in your heroes’ boots, here’s your chance to give it a go. Following the World Cup Sprint Finals on Saturday, March 21, youth in 5th through 8th grades (U12/U14) will be given the opportunity to ski the very same sprint course as World Cup athletes raced on earlier that day.
Rentals are available on a limited basis for those who do not own equipment or those traveling from outside of the Northeast. Sign up here.

Lollipoppers to Olympians: A Celebration of New England Skiing
Presented by Bivo, Stratton Mountain School, and SMST2, and NENSA

Following the World Cup Future Stars Youth Sprint, gather at the NENSA tent in the World Cup Expo to celebrate the journeys of New England athletes from the Bill Koch League to the highest levels of international competition.
Led by Master of Ceremonies and 4-time SMST2 Olympian Andy Newell, the event will feature a meet-and-greet with Olympic silver medalists Bill Koch and Ben Ogden, Julia Kern, and others, followed by a conversation with the athletes hosted by Bivo.

One Last Lap
Youth & Junior celebration ski with retiring World Cup racers
Sun, March 22 | 4:35-5pm
Lake Placid is the final stop on this winter’s World Cup schedule. Following the 20k mass start races on Sunday, some World Cup athletes plan to hang up their professional ski boots, not just for the season, but for good. As hosts of this World Cup Final, we want to let them know how much we respect and adore them by sending them off with a ceremonial “One Last Lap” in the company of their biggest fans.
Youth, from 1st graders up to U18’s are invited to join in the celebration by skiing a portion of the stadium loop with retiring athletes.
