New for 2025 Season – NENSA & Jakroo Youth Apparel Program!

Mackenzie Rizio · November 5, 2024 ·

New for the 2024-2025 Season: NENSA and new-sponsor, Jakroo, are teaming up to offer the BKL Apparel program this year! Items available include training jackets, training pants, hats, warm puffy coats, and more for BKL skiers, coaches, and leaders. Team clothing is more than simply pieces of clothing used to ski in. When young skiers don their uniforms, it creates a sense of camaraderie, pride and belonging in one’s club which in turn helps both clubs and individual skiers develop together.

If your club is interested, please email Patrice Spyrka at patrice@jakroousa.com for account setup, product choice questions, and design assistance. Design turnaround is 1 business day. Once the artwork is approved, the order can be placed. Delivery of the order is 2 weeks to your doorstep. Team ordering is available and there are no minimums, ever. We’ve created this webpage to address your questions. We look forward to seeing you in your Jakroo this winter!

2024 YES Rollerski Clinic

Mackenzie Rizio · September 30, 2024 ·

This past Sunday, NENSA, EMXC, and YES collaborated to put on the fourth annual Youth Enrichment Services (YES) Rollerski clinic where we shared a beautiful afternoon of fun and games on rollerskis with YES and Eastern Mass Cross Country.

The goal of this clinic was to introduce young people in the Boston area to the summer version cross country skiing, build excitement for the winter season, and provide an opportunity for YES participants to get acquainted with the EMXC athletes who assist with coaching YES’s winter ski program. This program feautured a total of 24 participants all learning how to fasten their ski boots, strap on their skis, and get rolling! We even had a special guest working with Boston’s newest rollerskiers, SMST2/US Ski and Snowboard athlete, 2022 Olympian, Boston local, and longtime NENSA favorite, Julia Kern.

A massive thank you to all who made this event possible. Working with YES and EMXC is always such a pleasure and in addition to NENSA’s dedicated sponsors and grantors, this event would not be possible without the support of our generous donors, the Weston Ski Track who provided boots and poles for the clinic, and the Massachusetts Department of Conservation & Recreation for the use of their Tenean Beach parking lot.

Check out the Video Recap below:

Our next Introductory Rollerski clinic opportunity will take place after the conclusion of The Maine Event, in Rumford, Maine on October 20th.

NONH/ME Rollerski Clinic

Mackenzie Rizio · July 17, 2024 ·

We’re hosting an exciting introductory rollerski clinic in Fryeburg on August 10th, and we’d love for you to join us!  NENSA Rollerski clinics are geared towards BKL-age children and the parents, caregivers and coaches that support them. The clinic will focus on teaching the fundamentals of skiing, including stopping, turning, basic techniques, agility skills and course, and engaging games. Shortly following the BKL/Youth Clinic, we will be running a high school clinic session. It’s a fantastic way to get ready for winter, connect with the nordic community, and have a blast mastering a new skill.  Hope to see you there!

Open to all! REGISTRATION here.

BKL/Youth Clinic (includes parents, caregivers, and coaches of youth participants) – 9-11am

Junior+ Clinic (Age 14+) – 11am -1pm.

All participants will have access to NENSA Rollerskis, but please bring your own helmets and poles. Please see NENSA Rollerski Policies and Procedure for more information.

Mackenzie Rizio · July 14, 2024 ·

NENSA tested out our new youth rollerski agility kit with a group of Ford Sayre middle schoolers last week! Click here to check out the reel, which highlights our new kit!

Club visits from NENSA are available to all of our member clubs, and are one of the staff’s favorite member benefits. We’ve got plenty of summer (and fall!) left, reach out to us if you’d like to bring a rollerski session to your local club!
