NENSA Community Day at Ford Sayre 2025

Come one, come all — it’s time for a NENSA Community Day with Ford Sayre! Whether you’re a BKL skier, a curious newcomer, a parent, or a Masters athlete, this is your chance to come together with the ski community for an afternoon of movement, learning, and fun. From rollerski games and biathlon to ski jumping, trail running, and a delicious BBQ dinner, there’s something for everyone. Don’t miss this unique opportunity to connect with friends old and new, try something new, and get inspired for the season ahead!

All events take place at the Oak Hill Outdoor Center, Hanover, NH.

Adult Programming:

2:00 PM – NENSA Coaches Rollerski Clinic

NENSA Coaches Clinic Full Itinerary

FOR: Master’s looking to work technique into their training and/or work with their peers, Parent Leaders with older BKL/Junior skiers, practicing coaches, and those interested in trying out rollerskiing in a safe environment!

Join NENSA’s Ben Theyerl, Dartmouth’s Brayton Osgood and USSS L100 Certification candidates for a program covering basic progressions for both classic and skate. An introductory program designed for Parents Leaders, Coaches, and Master’s Skiers alike focusing on the fundamentals of nordic skiing movement. Program will include an introduction to biomechanics of classic and skate, basic drills, and tips and tricks for incorporating technique into practices with kids.

You do not need to be signed up for USSS L100 Certification to participate in the clinic portion of the afternoon!

Rollerskis provided by EnjoyWinter! Please review NENSA’s rollerski safety procedures prior to attendance. Bring running shoes, high-visibility shirt, HELMET, poles and boots.

3:30pm USSS L100 Assessment – INFO HERE. Runs as part of NENSA Coaches Clinic. Registration has closed for L100 Assessment. Please reach out to Ben Theyerl, ben@nensa.net, if you plan on pursuing L100 at this event.

4:30 PM – NENSA Community Group Trail Run 

Join NENSA and Ford Sayre Staff for a group run highlighting the new trails at Oak Hill!

  • This is a no-drop, easy, group run. We will break into groups based on ability groupings in order to make sure everyone is included!
  • Junior skiers are welcome to join!
  • Max run time will be 90 minutes – 1hr 30min. Options to go shorter will be provided.
  • Meet in the Oak Hill Parking Lot!

Youth Programming:

4:00 PM – Activity Stations (Rotating by Age Group):

  • Rollerski Agility & Games (Rollerskis available to borrow)
    Location: Oak Hill Parking Lot
  • Intro to Biathlon (Learn to shoot and try a mini course)
    Location: Grass area next to the Welcome Center
  • Ski Jump Tour + Intro to Jumping Fundamentals
    Location: Ski Jumps

6:00 PM – Community BBQ Dinner
Everyone’s welcome — fuel up with a delicious dinner and great company.
Location: Stadium

6:50 PM – “Opportunities After the BKL” Talk
Hear from NENSA about what opportunities exist after Bill Koch League.
Location: Stadium Area

What to bring:

  1. Active clothes & sneakers or trail shoes
  2. Water bottle
  3. Helmet, skate boots (rollerskis available to borrow, and poles are optional)
  4. Curiosity and community spirit!
