ME NENSA Eastern State Champs Virtual Team Captains’ Meeting

Race Details

  • Individual start 5k skate race followed shortly by a Cross Country Cross (XCX) race which is a skate competition where competitors compete on a short course (~1.5k) that includes both traditional and non-traditional elements such as natural and artificial terrain features, corridors, obstacles, jumps, waves, and tight turns.
  • Both the 5k and XCX races will feature 30 second start intervals and will use the same start list and bibs.
  • Boys race on Saturday February 27th and girls race on Sunday February 28th.
  • All races will be split by geographical region to ensure the event stays within the Maine State Gathering size limit. Region 1 = south/coastal (races first on Saturday). Region 2 = north/central (races first on Sunday). Results from the two regions will not be combined due to changing conditions (this decision was made by the Event Jury).
  • Region 1 schools include but are not limited to… Yarmouth, Waynflete, Portland Nordic, NYA, Mt. Ararat, Maine Coast Waldorf, Greely, Freeport, Falmouth, Edward Little, Camden Hills, Brunswick, Agamenticus Ski Club, Gray-New Gloucester, and Telstar.
  • Region 2 schools include but are not limited to… Quarry Road Ski Club, Presque Isle, Orono, Mt. Abram, Mt. Blue, Maranacook, MSSM, Madawaska, Leavitt, Gould, Fryeburg, Fort Kent, Caribou, Spruce Mtn., and Oxford Hills.
  • The two 5k races will be scored to the NENSA Junior Ranking List (JRL) event for use in potential future selection processes including camps.
