About NENSA: Founded in 1995, the New England Nordic Ski Association (NENSA) is a nonprofit member-supported service organization fostering a vibrant ski community through educational, recreational, and competitive opportunities for skiers of all ages and abilities. From youth programs like the New England Bill Koch League (BKL) and Nordic Rocks to community events such as Women’s XC Ski Day and the Popular Series, we create inclusive, fun environments that inspire a lifelong passion for the sport. We also steward a robust competitive ecosystem, featuring events like the Eastern Cup, the largest Junior National qualifying series in the U.S., and regional training camps for athletes at all stages of development. With over 60 member clubs and more than 9,000 event and program participants, we are proud to be at the forefront of Nordic skiing in New England, empowering lifelong learning, development, and community-building.

The Board of Directors is NENSA’s governing body. Members play a crucial role in NENSA’s success by helping set the organization’s strategic direction, providing financial oversight, upholding its mission and purpose, and helping ensure NENSA’s long-term strength and sustainability.

NENSA’s Programming Committees bring together Board members and community volunteers to support and strengthen our programs. Through collaborative discussion and shared expertise, committee members provide insight and recommendations that help NENSA serve and grow the New England ski community. NENSA’s athlete development philosophy – competitive excellence via joy and community – becomes vivid through our coaches. By joining Team New England, you shape the skiing experience for the next generation of New England skiers. NENSA believes that we perform best when our coaching teams come from a diversity of communities and experiences, and that there is a multiplier effect when one community’s coaching leader becomes a New England coaching leader.

The best part? There’s space for all skills and levels. Whether you’re a honed expert in the wax room, or really great at piecing together a plan to keep snacks stocked for hungry skiers, you’ll contribute to the success and future of New England skiing at Junior Nationals or one of our regional camps.

NENSA issues two Calls for Coaches for our programming each year. We will share the applications here when those Calls go out.

April for Summer Development Projects: REG, RDG, and In-Region USSS Camps.

Technical Delegates play an important role in creating safe, fair, and exciting NENSA competitions, working in partnership with event organizers, NENSA staff, and fellow officials. NENSA welcomes people with a variety of backgrounds and experience levels and provides a pathway to certification through hands-on mentoring at Eastern Cup and Championship events. Whether you bring years of racing experience or are interested in learning a new side of the sport, becoming a TD is a great way to contribute your skills, deepen your knowledge, and support the New England ski community.
