The newly improved Inferno is back! This XC skiercross event will start at the top of the Whiffle Tree Chair Lift and end down at the Sugarloaf Outdoor Center. The course will take you downhill to the Condo X-Cut that connects with the traditional Inferno race trail leading to the Sugarloaf Outdoor Center. You will feel the burn on this approximate 7K course that is mostly downhill and suitable for advanced skiers on nordic skis.
Online Registration (Ends March 12th at 5:00pm)
The event fee is $25 per person. This includes the lift access needed for the start of the race, a registration gift, and a complimentary beverage at the finish line.
Please note there will be no day of registration for this year’s race.
This will be an XC Skier Cross course with berms, rollers, and a small drop, so the terrain is for intermediate and advanced skiers only. We are only allowing racers on nordic equipment, and helmets are required.
The course will start at the top of Whiffle Tree and will take you downhill to the Condo X-Cut that connects with the traditional Inferno race trail leading to the Sugarloaf Outdoor Center.
The race will begin at 10 am with 5 person waves. We will provide specific information regarding your start time as we get closer to race day.
Since the start and finish are separate locations, skiers should plan accordingly. When arriving at the start, only bring what you plan to race with as there will be no returning to the exact start location after the race. You will have to either get dropped off at the Sugarloaf Mountain base area, or take the regularly scheduled shuttle back to the mountain if you park up at the mountain instead of the outdoor center, or you could ski back up to your vehicle. There is no bus/shuttle specific for the race. Check out more shuttle information here.
BIB PICK UP
We will offer two different times to pick up your bib; Saturday evening and Sunday morning. More information will be shared soon!
Celebrate your accomplishments with a complimentary finish-line beverage. Due to current CDC guidelines for public gatherings, we will mail winners their prizes in lieu of an awards ceremony this year.
