2026 Stratton Summit Challenge Presented by SMS-SMS T2

Join us on Sunday, August 9th, 2026 for the 5th annual Stratton Summit Challenge! You can race your heart out against the best in the world OR take your time– everyone is welcome.  If you want to challenge yourself in a beautiful setting, see where you stack up against some of the top skiers in the world and support a great cause, then this is your event! The open race follows the work road from the base of the gondola to the top of Stratton Mountain, 1750 vertical feet.

The race follows the work road from the base of the gondola to the top of Stratton Mountain. On top, you will get spectacular views and a ride back down on the gondola. There is also a kids race that goes about 1/2 of the way up and finishes at mid-mountain. After the race, you will have a chance to meet the USST skiers and ask questions.

Schedule:

9:45am- Kids Race (from Base to Mid-Mountain)

10:00 am- Open Race (from Base to Top)

10:00am- Gondola opens, spectators are welcome to ride up for free!  You’ll want to be on the first chair to see the action.  

11:00am to 12:00pm- Athlete meet and greet, autographs, posters, prizes, raffle awards, Q & A

This event showcases the SMST2 team– our professional cross country ski team that lives and trains in the Stratton area. This team includes athletes who have earned medals at World Junior Championships, U23 World Championships, World Championships and the Olympics.  All proceeds from the race go to the SMST2 team to help them with their travel expenses throughout the season.
