EC Finale 2023 Coach Relays:
Coach Relay Team Criteria:
Teams must be mixed gender.
If you need help forming a team, fill out as much of the form below as you can and we’ll be in touch.
This event is for coaches and techs only. No “athletes” please 🙂
Mass start, no timing!
Friendly sabotage only.
If you take this too seriously, you’re disqualified!
Coach Relay Race Notes:
- Relay will start at ~3:45 by announcement (after U16 awards but before JNs team naming).
- Meet in the far end of the stadium.
- Course TBD, but will be 500-750m long; each leg skis the course once.
- We’re aiming to have the whole thing take <20 minutes! To help with that, please read the specific leg instructions below so we don’t have as many questions to answer on-site.
- All teammates will race on the same pair of classic skis. In addition to your team’s race skis, your team will need:
-
- 1 additional pair of classic skis (not the ones you’re racing on)
- Tube of any kick wax and a cork
- Coach bibs
Coach Relay Specific Leg Instructions 🙂
Leg 1: Starts without skis, poles or bib on; on “Go” must put on bib, skis & poles before crossing start line. (Then, after the exchange w/ Partner 2, they get ready to hand a pole to Partner 3 on their leg!)
Leg 2: Once Partner 1 enters the “tag zone”, Partner 2 must add one layer of (any) kick wax to any 2 classic skis (not the ones you’re racing on) and cork it smooth before clipping in to the race skis.
Leg 3: Starts with only 1 pole, gets second pole from Partner 1 in designated area on course. Then crosses the finish line a blaze of glory.
“Register” your team here or let us know if you need an extra teammate or two! We can also make teams on the spot!
