BKL Festival COVID-19 Contingencies

Plan 1 – Regional BKL Festivals (BKL Mini-Fests). NENSA will work with each state or region to host a mini-BKL Festival that fits safely within their state or region’s COVID guidelines. More information will be available soon. In the meantime, stay tuned for the upcoming Mini-Fest theme announcement! NENSA and our dedicated BKL District Chairs and Leaders are committed to providing our youth skiers with a fun, safe, and inclusive capstone to their winter season.

Plan 2 – Virtual BKL Festival. If COVID guidelines do not safely permit gatherings in every state, the BKL Festival will go virtual. Please note that some states may be able to gather while others may not so a hybrid option using Plans 2 and 3 may be employed. The virtual event will include a welcome video and a list of fun activity options to complete such as build an agility course, create a snow sculpture or shelter, see how far you can ski in a set amount of time, see how far you can ski backwards in a set amount of time, invent a game to play on skis and play that game, and send a photo of you in your parade costume. NENSA will send BKL Festival Journals (so participants can record which activities they complete), goody bags, participation ribbons, and graduation certificates to District Chairs or BKL Club Leaders. NENSA will also create a virtual parade webpage with all the costume photos. Virtual activities subject to change as we come up with new fun ideas.
