The District Chair plays a large role in the distribution of the goody bags and bibs, and there is a weekend long role of being the communication link between your District’s skiers, coaches, and parents/caregivers and the festival organizers. We appreciate all the work you put into this event and the important role you play in ensuring the skiers and families in your District have a fun and enjoyable experience at the Festival! Below is some helpful information to help you help your District.
Parking: Each District Chair will have 2 designated parking spaces at the Rikert Outdoor Center in the main parking lot (parking passes will be handed out at the Friday District Chair meeting). There are off-site parking options as well as parking across the road from the outdoor center. Full details HERE.
District Tent Village: Each District will also have a marked space in the Stadium where they can set up a District tent.
Kids you don’t know or don’t connect with on Friday: Once late online registration closes on Wednesday (2/28), I will send you the emails for everyone registered under your District. If you do not connect with a child or family on Friday, best practice is to bring the goody bag and bib to the Info Hub and give them to the person running day-of registration. This has worked pretty well in the past for families who may not know you.
Late Registrants: Regular online registration closes February 23rd at midnight but we will be accepting late registrants both online and in-person. Late online registration will be open from Monday Feb 26 until Wednesday Feb 28th at 5pm. Day-of registration will take place on-site the morning of the event. We can’t guarantee goody bags or t-shirt for late registrants but any and all extras will be at race headquarters (along with bibs).
Friday Goody Bag Pick-up: Goody bags will be available for pickup from 5-7pm in the Event Barn at Rikert Outdoor Center. They will be ground for pick-up by District.
Friday District Chair Meeting & Relay Bib Pick-up: 7pm in the Event Barn at Rikert Outdoor Center. Please join NENSA, your fellow District Chairs, Festival Chairs, and Race Officials to chat about the weekend details, including the relay, and ask questions of the Festival organizers and Jury. The meeting will be 1-1.5 hours long and we will hand out relay bibs for your District on Friday. They are lycra again this year and must be returned after the races on Saturday so we can reuse them on Sunday! If you can’t attend, please send someone from your district.
Saturday Relay: Your efforts in the tag zone are always appreciated. Some of the kids know their partner, but then there are kids who have never been in a relay tag zone before and are relying on your calm guidance to send them happily on their way. Thanks in advance for stepping in to help keep chaos happily organized.
Saturday Evening Bib Pick-up: District Chairs can pick up lycra bibs for Sunday’s Individual race from 5-7pm in the Event Barn at the Rikert Outdoor Center. We would prefer that you hand out these bibs to your District’s athletes Sunday morning to ensure that all bibs make it to the race on Sunday. Lycra bibs are your responsibility to hand out, and to return to Race Headquarters after the race on Sunday if any of your athletes do not end up racing.
