2023 Concord Area Learn-to-Ski Clinic

Sunday February 5th, 2023 | Concord Community Nordic Trails at Beaver Meadow Golf Course

Never been on cross-country skis before but curious to try? We’d love to see you at Beaver Meadow Golf Course on February 5th for a free Learn-to-Ski clinic! Equipment loans are included. Cross-country skiing is a fun way to get outside and enjoy winter right in your own backyard or at your local community ski center. These Learn-to-Ski clinics are geared towards people 6 years of age and older of all backgrounds and identities who have never been on cross-country skis before. We aim to create a welcoming, inclusive, and safe environment for people to try a new sport and discover the joy of gliding on snow. We ask that anyone under 14 years of age has a parent/caregiver with them participating or supervising.

Registration: Online registration is now closed. Day-of drop-ins are welcome although equipment is limited and we cannot guarantee equipment for day-of drop-ins. You are welcome to bring your own equipment or  borrow equipment elsewhere. Please stop by the NENSA/LL Bean tent to sign a waiver.

Parking, Check-in & Equipment: The Concord Community Nordic Trails at Beaver Meadow Golf Course are located at 1 Beaver Meadow Dr, Concord, NH, 03301. See map below for where to park. Check-in and equipment pick-up will be under or near the NENSA/LL Bean tent and runs from 10:10am-10:30am for the morning clinic and 12:40-1:00pm for the afternoon clinic. All who registered online can pick up equipment by the NENSA/LL Bean tent at check-in. We are grateful to JacksonXC and Capital Region Nordic Alliance (CRNA) for use of their equipment.

Learn-to-Ski Clinic Details: Clinics will be led by teachers and coaches who are experienced in working with people new to skiing. We ask that folx only attend one clinic so we can accommodate as many people as possible unless there is enough equipment to meet everyone’s needs. Clinics will cover classic cross-country skiing basics including skiing on flat terrain, getting up from a fall, climbing, and navigating downhills. Clinics will meet near the NENSA/LL Bean tent by check-in (see map below).

Learn-to-Sitski Clinic Details: Sitskis will be provided by Capital Region Nordic Alliance and clinics will be led by experienced sitski instructor, Russ Meyer, with assistance from local Concord-area coaches. These clinics are for people with lower body mobility impairments and their families. There is parking right near the trailhead. Please direct any questions about the Learn-to-Sitski Clinics to [email protected]. Clinics will meet near the NENSA/LL Bean tent by check-in (see map below).

Additional Offerings: Visit the Ski Expo where there will be a few equipment suppliers and outfitters from the ski industry will be on hand with goods to try. We have raffled off some fun items from our NENSA sponsors which our lucky winners will pick up at check-in. Lastly, visit The 19th Hole Bar at Beaver Meadow in the clubhouse for tasty food offerings.

Bags Storage: Please store bags and shoes in your vehicle.

What to Wear: It will be chilly so bring many layers! Visit our website HERE for a full rundown of suggestions.

Bathrooms: Indoor bathrooms are available in the Beaver Meadow Golf Course Clubhouse (see map below).
